Ponduru is the only place in India where khadi is 100% handmade. A jaw of a local fish is used to align cotton fibres and thread is spun using a spinning wheel only. Ponduru khadi made from red cotton and hill cotton ( a locally grown cotton) is always in short supply and is mostly exported.
